Welcome to El Hefe Chicago

Chicago restaurants and barsEl Hefe Super Macho Taqueria in Chicago is not your average taco joint. Yeah, we serve up delicious little tortillas full of flavor, but we also boast the best Tortas and Beer-Garitas in Chicago. You might just have to try it to decide for yourself!

Hmmm, how can we describe El Hefe? Think Dia de Los Muertos – but with style (and great-looking servers)! Have you ever tried a beer-garita?! Come in, be charmed and leave full!

At El Hefe we dish up all kinds of tacos: Pork al Pastor, Braised Beef, Duck Carnitas, Chicken, Carne Asada and more! And they don’t stop there – add in an entrada (appetizer), Hefe Dog, Torta or finish off the meal with a dulce (dessert).

Are you more concerned with the beverage? El Hefe has some of the best Margaritas we’ve ever sipped. Grab one – or a beer-garita, frozen marg, beer, boxed wine (seriously!) – the list goes on and on!

How do you say “Cheers” in Spanish? At El Hefe we have earned it!

Don’t Take Our Word For It..

“This is is a really cool place on Hubbard St for drinks, dancing, and good music. We loved it so much that we came back the next night for round 2!

HIGHLIGHTS: Beer taps AT YOUR TABLE. Help yourself to beer?! Yes please. Fireball on tap at the table… WHAT?! We almost couldn’t believe it until we started pouring our own beers (and shots). Great Ambiance- contemporary decor with a hint of Mexican flair. Pro DJ(s)- high energy dance music had us starting the dance floor 2 nights in a row.

We didn’t order food here, but as we arrived, there were several groups finishing up their plates. It looked appetizing. We sprung for large margaritas to start off the night, and mixed in some other drink orders along with the self-serve taps.

TAPS: 3 beers + fireball on tap. There’s a digital display that shows how many ounces of each drink you’ve poured, and they charge by the ounce….”
